Using the medibang paint lasso tool to resize part of my comic artwork

I can resize part of a drawing in Medibang Paint but figuring this out in the app took me a while to figure out. So I wanted to share how to do that using the lasso tool.

I'm on my pencil layer in Medibang Paint and I have a pencil drawing of my character on the page.

But I realized something. I drew it too big. If I put some text in there, there's not really going to be a lot of room for it. So how can I remedy that?

I, of course, could draw it again. But let's use one of the tools just to show what else I can do.

Turning on the lasso tool

There is a lasso tool in the top menu.

I can select a square or circle, or I have a freehand option.

Selecting part of a drawing with the lasso tool

With the lasso freehand tool, I draw around the part of the drawing I want to resize and it selects that area.

Lasso tool "Zoom in/Zoom out" option

All of the options for what you can do with the area selected by the lasso tool are down at the bottom menu for some reason. I can go down to this other lasso tool menu and select the "Zoom In/Zoom Out" option.

Now I have a resize box around what I selected, and I can resize this drawing to be a little bit smaller so I can fit some text in there if I need to.

When I'm done resizing it I hit the "Set" button at the bottom and it goes back to the lasso outline. I deselect the lasso at the top and now my pencil drawing is resized. Now I can start drawing again.
