I have a new comic book idea and thought I would talk about it while I draw a panel of the story.
I got a new lapel mic and I also found a way to hook up my drawing tablet to use it in a live stream. So I wanted to try both of these things out.

I have this new comic that I'm working on. It's a comic series that I have based on some old characters of mine.
What is the concept for this comic book story?
It's set in a monster world where humans go to the afterlife and the humans torture or harass or haunt the monsters.
So the monsters are the normal people who just want to live their lives and these humans basically show up to make their lives a living hell.
I don't know, it's a silly concept.
Who are the two main characters?
I have two characters.
One is called "The Monster" because he's the monster. 👇

Right now I'm on page eight of this story. And in the video above, I work on drawing another panel for the page.
Inspired by 4-color comics of the 60s and 70s
The comic is gonna be a collection of a bunch of short stories. It's not going to be one constant story. I want to make it like those older four-color comics from the 60s through the 70s like Richie Rich or the Looney Tunes comics.
The ones where it starts with the two main characters in a story that's maybe eight pages.
Then do another story with some different characters for another 8-page story and then another story after that with the two main characters again.
So the drawing I'm doing in the video above is page 8 of the first story in this comic.
I'm hoping to make this comic book a monthly series
When I finish drawing this I'm hoping to release it as a monthly series of comics and ebooks.

So I'm using a Wireless Lavalier Microphone for Video Recording
The mic actually works with video on my phone as well as video on my laptop. And it's actually available at a pretty good price on Amazon.
Webcam I'm using
For the webcam, I'm using an Aluratek 1080p HD Webcam with Ring Light
This webcam I've been using for over a year on the art podcast. I used to just try and rely on natural light but then during the winter, it gets dark out earlier.
So I got this webcam with a built-in ring light on Amazon.
Video recording software I'm using
And to stream and record the video I'm using OBS Studio
OBS Studio is a free and open-source tool for recording and streaming video.
I can also set up different camera scenes like the one I use in my video above where I show my webcam and my drawing tablet at the same time.
Streaming live to try and keep on schedule
That's why I got this new setup for streaming it live.
If I set up a schedule for my live drawing streams it will hopefully make me stick to a schedule for the comic book and keep me in the habit of actually drawing the durn thing!
