Do I really draw a webcomic every day? How I make my webcomic books

One of the questions that I've been asked is do I draw my webcomic every day?

Do I really make one comic every day throughout the year? These days the answer is... kinda.

When I first started drawing it in 2017, yes I did.

Back then I drew it every day and that was because it was more cathartic. It actually turned out to be something that helped me get through a rough time.

The first book I put together of those comics was really about an emotional time in my life and it was more of a diary.

At that time I didn't have a podcast, I just started this website and posted my webcomics

This was a way for me to draw every day.

My comics were not in the style they are now.

In the beginning, it was a little bit more serious-looking, which made sense given my mood at the time.

I drew the first comic on the day my wife told me she had breast cancer.

My stupid desk.

But drawing that way just seemed like too much for me to try and do every day.

Then I tried to dumb it down so I could find a way to do them where I felt more comfortable.

I tried drawing them on my phone like this one.

Sometimes I tried drawing them on a napkin or a notebook like this

I was still trying to find the style and something I liked that I would enjoy drawing every day.

I only spend 15 minutes drawing my webcomic

The main thing I was trying to accomplish was to create a character style that was simple enough to replicate in a period of about 15 minutes. Otherwise, I felt like I would procrastinate and I wouldn't do it.

These days I have a method down that stays in the same overall style from comic to comic for the most part.

So yes, I do try to draw my webcomic every day but there will be maybe a day or so that I miss.

I made a video talking more about this and making my webcomic book. You can check that out on the site here! Making a book of my webcomic - How I add the images - Part 1

December snow.

It's snowed a few times this year I don't know why this time felt different.

Still dealing with items.

I had to create a claim on the USPS website for the package in New York. And I had hoped I could ship my laptop from home but the return instructions said it had to be sent from the UPS facility.

Missing label.

When I took the label back to the post office he told me I need to bring my own tape to put it on the package next time. I'm hoping there won't be a next time.

Paint run.

A few years ago scheduling MRI's would consume our whole day . Now we were happy that we could just do something to help other people in some way. Even if it was just driving to get the paint they needed. And we did make it back in time for for Merijoy's appointment.
